Warrior Pathway Initiative

The Warrior Pathway Initiative is a partnership program developed by UNLV Wrestling to support Native American student-athletes through higher education, leadership development, and cultural connection.

This initiative creates a bridge between tribal youth, collegiate opportunity, and future leadership within their Nations.

This is not a scholarship program.
This is a sovereign partnership built on legacy and long-term impact.

The Warrior Pathway Initiative exists to:

• Create workforce pipelines for tribal enterprises

The program uses sport as a vehicle for leadership — not as an endpoint.

Participating tribal Nations sponsor student-athletes competing with UNLV Wrestling while pursuing degrees in:

• Hospitality Management
   
• Business & Entrepreneurship
   
• Law & Governance
   
• STEM & Health Fields
   

Students receive elite training, national competition exposure, and leadership mentorship.

Graduates transition into careers supporting their Nations through:

• Enterprise leadership
   
• Resort and casino management
   
• Legal and governance roles
   
• Economic development
   
• Community services
   

This strengthens tribal workforce sovereignty and leadership continuity.

UNLV Wrestling collaborates with partner Nations to:

The Warrior Pathway Initiative is designed to be scalable and sustainable.

Participating Nations may sponsor:

2 student-athletes per year
$10,000 per athlete

Funding supports:

• Travel & competition
   
• Training resources
   
• Equipment
   
• Coaching support
   

Academic tuition assistance programs remain separate.
